Welcome to New Leaf Nutrition! The business name for the human who is Allison Porter. â€‹

Allison is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, yoga instructor, and meditation teacher specializing in nutrition for mental health and neuropsychology.

 

Her nutrition practice focuses on eating disorders, disordered eating, autism, ADHD, picky eating, ARFID, sensory processing aversions, allergies, and autoimmunity.

 

Allison utilizes her understanding of the gut-brain axis and functional medicine to help individuals and families who are struggling with these and other similar or related issues.

Allison earned her Bachelor's in Nutrition from the University of Texas at Austin. She completed her dietetic internship through UT's Coordinated Program in Dietetics and has been working as a dietitian for 9.5 years, 8 of them in the recovery and mental health field. Recently Allison's continuing education focus is on eating disorders, ARFID, autism, neuroplasticity, PCOS, toxicity, and stress. She currently works as the adolescent specialist at Chrysalis Center and the resident dietitian at Healing Together Counseling & Wellness

Allison was first exposed to meditation at age 6 and went to her first hatha yoga class at age 13. She's been studying yoga practically her whole life. Allison was trained in Integrative Yoga Therapy through the Sundara Yoga Therapy teacher training program. She blends meditation and yoga instruction into wellness sessions as needed to help clients cultivate body-mind awareness.
